Making Jewellery Look Like It Deserves

Claddagh Jewellers needed a product video that did justice to the craft behind each piece — the kind of detail a customer only notices when the camera gets close enough to show it.

The brief

Claddagh Jewellers wanted a short product video that showed the quality and tradition behind their pieces — the kind of thing that sells the craftsmanship, not just the product. A jewellers this well known needed the footage to match: close, precise, nothing rushed.

The shoot

This was my first shoot outside Munster for a brand this prestigious, so I went in a bit nervous. That didn't last long — Rachelle and the team made me feel very welcome straight away, and had some great ideas of their own to bring to it rather than just leaving it all to me, which is ok too but collaboration is always welcome.

The best part of the day was getting to watch a ring actually being made from start to finish. The jeweller was seriously talented, and I couldn't stop asking him questions between takes about how it all came together. It's not often a job doubles as something genuinely interesting to watch.

Happy with how it turned out, and it's the kind of shoot I'd take again in a heartbeat — hoping to work with Claddagh again soon.
