A Whiskey Brand, Shot At The Cliffs

J.J. Corry needed a film with the weight a whiskey brand is supposed to have. We shot it at the Cliffs of Moher, which does most of that work on its own.

The brief

J.J. Corry is an independent Irish whiskey bottler, and the brief was to film the day the casks went in: whiskey aged at the Cliffs of Moher, close enough to the sea that the salt air becomes part of the flavour. Good story on paper, so the film had to feel real rather than like a marketing line.

The shoot

Filmed at O’Brien’s Tower on the Cliffs of Moher, for the day J.J. Corry moved casks of whiskey in to age there for a few years. The idea is that ageing that close to the sea, in the salt air, gives the whiskey a character you can’t get anywhere else. So the location isn’t just a backdrop, it’s the reason the whiskey will taste the way it does.
